Your Tasks

Role Introduction:

  • We are seeking a talented and experienced Opto-Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in the design and development of precision opto-mechanical systems for semiconductor manufacturing or advanced process equipment.
  • As a member of the DSC Product Engineering Team, you will play a key role in supporting product development, sustaining engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work in a highly collaborative international environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and support product lifecycle activities.
  • We are looking for a candidate who possesses strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities in English.

 

Your mission:

    Opto-Mechanical System Design & Development

    • Design, analyze, and optimize precision opto-mechanical systems and subsystems for DSC lithography process equipment.
    • Develop innovative mechanical solutions to ensure system performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Perform tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, and structural evaluations to support system performance requirements.

    Testing, Alignment & Validation

    • Develop and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) for system performance characterization and root cause analysis.
    • Support optical alignment methodology development and system calibration activities.
    • Define and perform validation plans to verify design robustness and product performance.

    New Product Introduction (NPI)

    • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Service teams to transfer new technologies and products into production.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing issues and field escalations.
    • Drive process improvements to achieve production efficiency, quality, and reliability targets.

    Product Sustaining & Continuous Improvement

    • Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) for mature products.
    • Support maintenance and lifecycle management activities of existing systems.
    • Initiate, review, and validate engineering changes to improve product performance, quality, and manufacturability.

    Engineering Management & Collaboration

    • Manage engineering documentation, BOMs, and product structures within ERP/PDM systems.
    • Conduct risk assessments, cost evaluations, and technical trade-off studies.
    • Collaborate closely with optical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Your Profile

Education& Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Opto-Mechatronics Engineering, Photonics Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in semiconductor equipment, inspection systems, laser equipment, projection systems, or related industries.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in opto-mechanical system design and development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in precision system design, including optical and mechanical integration.
  • Strong knowledge of: Opto-mechanical system design, Optical test platforms, Thermal and structural analysis
  • Experience with precision machining processes, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams and supporting the transition from prototype to manufacturing
  • Proficiency with CAD and PDM systems (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Experience with ERP systems and BOM management.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin is required, with a minimum proficiency level of C1.
  • Good in English speaking and writing, with a minimum proficiency level of B2.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates who possess one or more of the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Advanced Opto-Mechanical Component & System Design
    • Experience designing high-precision lens mounts, mirror mounts, prism fixtures, and structural assemblies for optical or projection systems.
    • Knowledge of kinematic mounting principles and flexure-based mechanisms for highly stable and stress-free optical integration.
  • Precision Alignment & Six-Degree-of-Freedom (6-DoF) Mechanisms
    • Experience developing precision positioning and alignment mechanisms for optical systems.
    • Familiarity with tolerance budgeting and translating optical performance requirements into manufacturable designs.
  • Thermal Management & STOP Analysis
    • Experience performing Structural-Thermal-Optical Performance (STOP) analysis or related FEA simulations.
    • Knowledge of thermal management solutions and compensation t`echniques for minimizing optical drift and performance degradation.
  • Dynamic Structural Design & Vibration Control
    • Experience conducting modal, harmonic, or vibration analysis for precision mechanical systems.
    • Knowledge of vibration isolation and dynamic system optimization for high-accuracy equipment.
  • Semiconductor or Precision Equipment Development
    • Experience in semiconductor equipment, optical inspection systems, lithography systems, laser processing equipment, precision motion systems, or related industries.
    • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing transfer, and engineering change management.

Business travel requirement:

  • Typically less than two months of business travel per year.
